THE LANDS OF WAKUNI
In the world of Wakuni, vile creatures known as Yokai roam the land with impunity. Able to take on a myriad of forms, these apparitions have spread death and chaos. Only the Onmyōji, court sorcerors who have mastered the ways of Yin & Yang, can fight them.
OF YIN & YANG
Legend says that the first Mikado learned Onmyōdō — the Way of Yin & Yang — from the Tengu of Sōjōbō. It was he who founded the original Yin Yang Bureau, a school to train prospective students in the sacred arts, the five phases, and ki control. The Onmyōji are tasked with all sorts of things from divinations, purification, astronomy, and of course, vanquishing yokai.
THE WANDERER
In this tale, we follow the story of Temujin Mugen™, a former onmyōji who was banished from the capital of Taiyō-Kyō. With his trusty companion, Kuromaru — a rare creature known as a kirin — they wander the countryside and slay monsters for the highest bidder.
A LAND TORN ASUNDER
But other malevolent forces seek to spread calamity across Wakuni - be they peasant rebels, military generals, or even ancient evils from forgotten millennia ago. Temujin and his onmyō abilities may just be the only thing preventing Wakuni from plunging into an age of darkeness.
