The origin of Owl Shogun Studios harks back to spring of , when a young Josh Alicea, only 11-years old at the time, stumbled upon the very first volume of Masashi Kishimoto's legendary manga classic, Naruto. Growing up, Josh was always enamored by the rich storytelling tradition of Japanese manga and anime. But when he concluded his reading of that precious tankōbon of Naruto, he knew precisely what he wanted to be when he grew up: to become a world-class manga creator. And thus, The Manga Dream™ was born.
Though the studio was officially established in , founder and chief storyteller Josh Alicea has been operating under the moniker of The Owl Shogun since . This can be considered the TRUE inception of the studio. Through the years, Josh has endeavored to realize his dream of delivering the very best he can muster in terms of worldbuilding, character development, and unique storytelling experiences.
